The Knights Templar were a powerful crusading order of knights founded in the 11th Century with many of their number recruited from England and France. There are many Templar castles and churches throughout England including the Temple Church in London, made famous in The Da Vinci Code. The supreme commander of the Templar Order was known as the Grand Master. Each country had its own Master who would report directly to the Grand Master. Grand Masters often led their knight into battle, the result of which led to some very short tenures!
Our Grand Master of Templars Sword is manufactured by the world famous Marto factory in Toledo, Spain. It features an ornate hilt with an antiqued bronze and silver finish that is heavily decorated with Templar symbols including the Cross Pattée and Templar Seal. The blunt, decorated blade is and crafted from AISI 440 Stainless Steel and tempered. This sword is designed for display and ceremonial use and is not suitable for contact re-enactment.
