Product Description
In the Medieval period, the need for a safe longsword simulator arose, which led to the creation of the “federschwert”. The archaic feder, resembles a longsword only crudely, but the handling characteristics are almost the same. It is flexible, unsharpened, has no piercing tip and features a so-called “schilt” to protect the fingers. As it wasn’t considered a real weapon in medieval law, citizens were allowed to keep and use it. According to Wassmanssdorf (in the end of the 19th century), the original name for this tool was Paratschwert (parade sword) and the name “feder” was given by later generations.
There are more than ten years of experience and development behind the Regenyei “Standard” Federschwerts. They can be found in every part of the world, in almost every HEMA related event or club.
This model combines the ideal size with optimal balance. This “Jack of all trades” feder is strong in the bind, but can be still used from the wrist for precision work. This model combines the ideal size with optimal balance. This model has a 'strong' level of blade strength between 13.5 and 15 kg.
